Are you a wordsmith with a passion for creating compelling stories? The Department of Environment and Science is on the lookout for a dynamic Blog Writer and EDM Specialist to join our vibrant Social and Digital Media team.
About Us:
In this exciting role, you will be at the forefront of shaping our digital presence, working closely with a dedicated team led by experienced leaders. Reporting to the Social and Digital Media Team Leader and Manager, you will contribute to a dynamic and comprehensive social and Digital Media strategy.
Your Role:
As a key player, you'll be responsible for cultivating and growing our blog and EDM, crafting thought-provoking blog posts on diverse topics, and optimizing content for search engines through effective SEO strategies. You'll spearhead impactful email marketing campaigns, analyse performance data, and curate engaging content for this digital platform. Your creativity and strategic mindset will play a crucial role in influencing audience behaviour and fostering a captivating digital narrative.
What You'll Do:
Grow and cultivate a vibrant blog and EDM for the Department of Environment and Science.
Conduct research and craft high-quality blog posts across various topics.
Optimise blog content for search engines (SEO) to enhance visibility.
Collaborate with stakeholders to unearth compelling storytelling opportunities.
Manage and execute email marketing campaigns, including distribution list management.
Meet deadlines and maintain a consistent publishing schedule.
Contribute to content creation for diverse social media channels.
Identify and experiment with innovative growth tactics.
Contribute to the measurement and analysis of social and Digital Media outcomes.
Foster positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Uphold a workplace culture that champions equity, diversity, respect, and inclusion.
What We're Looking For:
The ideal candidate is not only passionate about crafting creative copy but also possesses strategic thinking prowess. You will bring:
A robust portfolio showcasing the ability to craft impactful digital stories.
Proficiency in simplifying complex information into engaging written content.
Strong interview skills.
Knowledge of SEO best practices.
Experience with EDM creation and execution, including list management.
Proficiency in using data to monitor, optimise, and evaluate digital content performance.
Demonstrated experience in planning and managing timeframes for successful communication outcomes.
Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills, fostering positive working relationships.
