We are leveraging the massive success that was the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup hosted by Australia and New Zealand, while the game in Queensland is embarking on an important journey to reach 50/50 gender parity by 2027. Football in Queensland has recently completed an important reform journey for the game, which will see football taken to the next level.

Football Queensland as the governing body for football in Queensland, exists to develop and grow the game at all levels by leading and supporting our clubs, volunteers, coaches, referees and stakeholders to provide exciting and enjoyable experiences for all Queenslanders - anytime, anywhere. Football Queensland also deliver player development pathways and manage the premier football competitions across the state.

Primary Purpose of Role

The Officer - Digital & Graphic Design will play a pivotal role in driving the growth and visibility of football in Queensland through innovative and compelling visual content. This dynamic role is integral to managing, developing, and supporting Football Queensland's digital and marketing strategies across various products and platforms. With a primary focus on Graphic Design, you will create and develop visually engaging graphic and video content that communicates Football Queensland’s marketing and digital initiatives creatively and effectively across all platforms. You will excel in multitasking, delivering high-quality work quickly and accurately, and be capable of working both autonomously and collaboratively.

Working within the Commercial, Digital & Communications team, you will develop and implement innovative digital strategies that align with Football Queensland's strategic plan. You will be responsible for creating and curating engaging content that drives engagement and builds a compelling narrative across all areas of the organisation. Coordinating broadcasts and managing digital platforms will be key to ensuring that our audience has seamless access to high-quality content. Your work will involve close collaboration with internal departments and external stakeholders to deliver a cohesive and impactful digital presence.

The role requires a proactive and creative approach to content creation and digital engagement, leveraging the latest trends and best practices in Graphic Design, social media, and digital marketing. By analysing the performance of our digital initiatives, you will provide insights and recommendations to continuously improve our strategies and outcomes. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the growth of football in Queensland, making a tangible impact on the sport’s development and popularity at both grassroots and elite levels.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Develop visually appealing graphics and video content for Football Queensland’s digital and marketing campaigns, ensuring brand consistency across all platforms
  • Manage, process and deliver creative briefs to a high level of quality, time and budget
  • Collaborate with the Commercial, Digital & Communications team to create compelling promotional materials, including flyers, posters, and digital ads for various events and initiatives
  • Create and maintain a content calendar to ensure consistent and timely delivery of content across all digital platforms
  • Develop and implement new content initiatives aligned with Football Queensland’s strategic plan and key priorities to reach broader audiences and increase digital platform engagement
  • Coordinate the planning and implementation of FQ competition broadcasts
  • Support Football Queensland departments with marketing requirements to effectively promote and deliver programs as needed
  • Collaborate with external stakeholders to develop and manage digital platforms, including Squadi, the FQ website network and broadcast
  • Monitor, measure and analyse the performance of digital products, platforms and content
  • Stay updated with industry trends and software advancements to ensure Football Queensland’s digital content remains innovative and competitive

Experience and Skills

To be the right fit for this role you will have:

  • A tertiary qualification in marketing, Graphic Design or equivalent training and experience
  • Proficiency in Graphic Design software, such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and After Effects
  • Proven experience in creating engaging visual content for digital platforms, including social media graphics, videos and animations
  • Experience in developing and maintaining digital technologies and strategies for websites, social media and other online communications
  • Knowledge of best practices and emerging trends in social media, including platforms like Facebook, Twitter (X), Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube and TikTok
  • Advanced skills and experience in Microsoft Office products, including PowerPoint, Excel and Word
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to plan, coordinate, and execute tasks and projects through to completion
  • Strong attention to detail and a keen eye for aesthetics and visual details
  • Ability to work independently with limited direction, set priorities, and manage tasks
  • Proactive approach to taking initiative whenever possible
  • The following skills and qualifications are desirable:
  • Experience or knowledge of the football industry
  • Knowledge of digital products and platforms
