Your Opportunity:
As the Social and Digital Media Officer, you will:
- Communicate creatively, empathetically and informatively to the Department of Education International (DEi) digital community and international audience to enable growth and engagement.
- Manage and monitor social media accounts and Digital communities on a day-to-day basis, both in a customer service capacity as well as contributing to content development.
The Social and Digital Media Officer reports to the Manager, International Marketing and Communications, Education Queensland International, Policy, External Relations and International, Policy, Performance, International and Intergovernmental Division.
About the Role
Responsibilities include:
- Manage and monitor various social media accounts, meeting deadlines including the implementation and management of proactive social media campaigns to increase engagement and grow followers across a range of social media platforms
- Manage social media audiences; responding to messages, monitoring public comments and creating conversations.
- Work with various internal stakeholders to create, coordinate and develop Digital Media materials such as videos and infographics.
- Work with the marketing team to develop and publish content and collateral to support planned activities and campaigns.
- Contribute to measurement and analysis of media outcomes; including monitoring, reviewing and analysing performance data for all social media activities to achieve continuous improvement in performance against social media objectives.
About You:
Whilst there are no mandatory qualifications required for this position, it would be highly desirable for the successful applicant to possess:
- Strong analytical skills, to forecast and identify trends and challenges in the new media landscape.
- Highly-developed interpersonal skills, including strong communication skills, to effectively deal with and influence external and internal stakeholders.
- Proven ability to develop and implement creative, proactive content across a range of Digital Media channels.Demonstrated experience managing and monitoring digital and social media accounts in a professional capacity.
- Experience in customer service, in order to effectively manage social media audiences through responding to messages and public comments.
- Knowledge of contemporary digital and social media communication practices.
