The Digital Transformation Engineer will be responsible for providing implementation guidance to programs and the Engineering & Technology Function. This is a technical position responsible for producing (as well as guiding) solutions. Join our team and take on a pivotal role in leading and driving the establishment of a world leading capability in our digital engineering work environment. This role leads to the establishment of tools integrating product lifecycles from design through to disposal.

Reporting to the Digital Transformation lead you will work with project stakeholders to identify priority capabilities required from the extensive international capability suite, and to develop an integrated plan of development and adoption. Mustering resources locally and internationally for the hands on rollout and engaging subject matter experts to provide hands on support for these systems and capabilities.

You will be strongly supported by an experienced team of developers and implementers of these tools as well as subject matter experts in the application of these engineering tools at the working level.

This is a planning, leadership and strategy role in which you have the opportunity to work with a wide range of highly skilled people. To be successful you will be tech aware, consultative, comfortable working across projects and functions and have the experience to identify and take on cultural, organisational and technical challenges.

The role will be based at Mawson Lakes, Adelaide.

Your responsibilities will include:

In this role, you will:

  • Have a background in business process and systems and change
  • Have a solid background in the use (not necessarily practitioner) of tools, likely management of teams using these.
  • Have awareness of systems and tools such as those we use in engineering (SE tools, CAD tools, business automation tools)
  • This person must have the capacity to be close to and integrated with the AIR6500 program, and will need to be Adelaide based unless somebody does an awesome job of convincing me otherwise.
  • Will have a "technologist" bent, able to evangelise new ways of delivering engineering technologies, tempered by a solid appreciation of project delivery.
  • Will ideally be a generalist, or the tendency to become one. A solid T-shaped engineers would be a good fit.
  • Will be able to work autonomously, strictly aligned to the Digital Transformation mission.
  • Will be results-orientated.
  • Technical Leads, Programs and Functional leadership to promote, develop and execute strategic roadmaps for Australian Digital Transformation adoption
  • Work with programs to assess their implementation maturity of Digital Transformation Initiatives (such as Model Based Systems Engineering aka MBSE, Agile DevSecOps, Digital Twin, Test Automation) developing and executing a plan for improvement and helping lead the implementation.
  • Support the identification and deployment of ICT infrastructure (including Cloud) needed to support tool usage
  • Support cross functional coordination of LMA 1LMX initiatives
  • Provide relevant technical and domain knowledge through mentoring of the broader technical team.
  • Coordinate activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling, and resolving problems
  • Conducts briefings and participate in technical meetings for internal and external representatives concerning specific operations.
  • Support Business Captures by assessing and developing a Digital
  • Transformation solution and defining potential cost and technical benefits
