Kellyville Preschool, located in the Hills district, is a not-for-profit, community-based preschool offering education and care for children aged 3 to 6 years. The preschool has been in operation for nearly 50 years.
We are seeking a mature, enthusiastic and experienced Diploma qualified educator. This is an excellent opportunity to bring your passion, enthusiasm, experience, dedication and commitment to this role, working with an experienced team to plan and implement an innovative program in a well-established service.
Your responsibilities will include building strong relationships with the children and their families, working with the room teacher and other educators to contribute to the planning and programming, completing weekly program reflections, observations on groups and individual children, and planning and running small and large groups. You will be aware of the NQS and EYLF, Child Safe Standards and the National Regulations.
Essential:
- A Diploma in Children's Services / Early Childhood Education & Care
- Current First Aid, CPR, Anaphylaxis and Asthma qualifications (HLTAID004 or HLTAID012)
- Current Child Protection qualifications (CHCPRT001 or CHCPRT025) and an understanding of child protection responsibilities
- Experience in children's services, documentation and planning for children
- A strong sense of community, with a focus on working in partnership with families
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, and reasonable computer skills
- Effective relationship-building / interpersonal skills
- An awareness of, and commitment to, child safety
- Over 18 years of age
- Current, paid Working with Children Check (WWC)
- Up-to-date COVID-19 vaccination (as per service policy)
Desirable:
- Experience working with children with additional needs and from a language background other than English
- Ability to speak a language other than English
- A keen interest in outdoor play, sustainability and the environment
