What will you do
We are looking to find our next Sydney based Maritime AustraliaDirector Advisory Group (DAG) to Manage our Maritime team in an efficient and effective way.
As a member of the management team, the DAG is responsible for the performance of the Maritime business unit, including products and services, results, quality, client satisfaction and people.
The focus of this role is on the operational management and leadership of the AG and for the responsibility of the above and below items.
Strategic leadership
- Overall leadership (i.e. working alongside / steering the business development leads in the entity) of the development and implementation of the Strategic objectives of the AG and overall responsibility for AG activities.
- Responsible for the development and execution of the annual operational plan of the AG, with notable contribution to the entity and BU strategic plans.
- Cooperation with the Business Line (BL) Management team in the delivery of BL Vision and Strategy.
- Responsible for developing and achieving business plan/annual (or budgeted) targets in revenue, added value and operating profit for the AG.
- Responsible for achieving working capital management targets and cash flow for the Advisory Group.
- Management and responsibility of overhead budget.
- Responsible for implementation, communication and compliance of Business Integrity Management (BIM) and business principles in the AG.
- Supervise management of projects and proposals in close collaboration with all parties and stakeholders involved.
- Act as Project Director on projects where relevant and where time allows.
- Proactively take responsibility for the quality control of bids prepared by the AG, in accordance with the Authorization Matrix.
- Realise commercial goals by identifying opportunities in the market, supporting the building of a positive image of RHDHV and managing and/or supporting sales initiatives.
- Liaise with other parties and relevant (staff) departments with a view to sharing knowledge, signaling and realising commercial opportunities, placing the client needs first and aligning goals in order to realise optimal collaboration across the business.
- Responsible for the order and sales portfolio of the AG, maintaining order book levels (firm and potential) at target levels for the AG.
- Responsible for hire and management of business development leads within the AG and the overall contribution of staff to work winning and client relationship building.
- Resource planning.
- Select, coach, manage and ensure the development of employees, in line with RHDHV HR guidelines, policies, procedures and employment laws in order to ensure motivated/ engaged employees, optimally equipped to contribute to the goals of RHDHV.
- Lead organisational development and changes, act as a role model for desired behaviors.
- Communication of BL and Company strategy and information on a regular and timely basis.
- Technical review of reports.
- Completion of technical engineering tasks on projects or completion of technical projects in their entirety.

What you bring
We are looking for someone unique, who has relevant 10+ years' experience with business operation management and line management responsibility.
Experience with owning market and/or project responsibilities as appropriate, in order to fulfil the role of spokesperson/representative for RHDHV business, both internally and externally and able to confidently contribute to the success of the Australian Maritime Business Unit.

- Appropriate degree in engineering or related qualification.
- Chartered, if appropriate, within Discipline.
- (Required) Technical knowledge of client and market needs, products and services and staff skillsets within the structural and civil engineering sector.
- (Desirable) Knowledge of Maritime Sector in Australia and globally.
- Willing to travel to suit the requirements of the role when needed.
