Our mission is to protect lives and property.Chief Financial OfficerReporting to the Group General Manager Strategic Services, the CFO is an integral member of the executive leadership team with a dotted reporting line to the Chief Executive Officer and regularly presents to the CFA Board. The CFO is responsible to CEO, Board and Minister for certain Standing Directions of the Minister for Finance issued under the Financial Management Act 1994. The CFO is also the Chief Procurement Officer and chairs the Procurement Advisory Board.The CFO manages a distributed Finance and Procurement Department in the delivery of integrated financial and business management services. The position is responsible for developing financial and investment management strategies that incorporate sound procurement and contract management practices to ensure value and compliance with government policy. The CFO is also a joint sponsor, with the Chief Information Officer, of a major SAP upgrade (S/4HANA). Prior experience steering an enterprise ERP implementation/upgrade is a key aspect for the position.The division provides prudent financial management, controls, budgeting, reporting, governance and compliance with Victorian Government Purchasing Board requirements. In addition, you will also oversee significant strategic deliverables including a comprehensive Financial Sustainability Program; Asset Development and Management Strategies; Procurement Improvement Plan and ongoing maturing of integrated budget and planning frameworks.We seek an established CFO with demonstrated accountability for strategic and operational finance functions of similar scale and complexity, preferably in a public sector environment. Key to success in the position will be your capacity to blend exceptional technical expertise with a humanistic and relationship based approach to support your team and engage with important internal and external stakeholders. The CFO will provide effective leadership to the finance team the majority of whom are located in Burwood head office, with others regionally located. Other key stakeholders are CBD based.
