Key responsibilities
- Lead and manage the provision of high level, expert and authoritative advice, Analytics and Market trend information to the Minister, Director-General and senior executives and officials on energy issues.- Oversee the provision of analysis and provide advice to support policy development and influence state and national policy issues.- Lead significant and complex analytics projects to achieve agreed outcomes and provide best practice customer service delivery.- Undertake and supervise the development of complex market models relating to the Australia's electricity and gas markets.- Assist with the strategic management, including planning, budgeting, monitoring and reporting performance, applying consistent and effective internal management practices;- Provide leadership and direction to a team of professionals, including managing and allocating resources to best meet the objective of the department and the Government and developing the capabilities of team members to ensure the team's ongoing success.- Represent the department in areas related to energy Analytics and policy proposals;- Build the agency's Analytics and Market trend capability to drive evidence-based policy development, support regulatory decision-making and provide thoughtleadership beyond the boundaries of the organisation, all with the aim of improving outcomes for Queensland's energy customers.- Maintain and develop strong and effective relationships, work collaboratively and negotiate extensively with local, state and federal agencies, industry and clients, suppliers and other external bodies to build commitment to, and achieve the delivery of, cost- effective energy supply and transformation through and within appropriate regulatory frameworks.
