As part of a reshaped executive team as the organisation positions itself for an exciting period of growth and transformation, this position will report to the CEO as a pivotal figure in the realisation of Burnet's organisational vision amid challenges in public health and organisational growth. The Director of Corporate Services and CFO will have broad CORPORATE SERVICES leadership responsibilities encompassing traditional Chief Financial Officer accountabilities. This high-profile position involves steering financial, investment and business strategy to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness. As a vital member of the executive team, the appointee will lead corporate functions, ensuring alignment with ambitious strategic objectives. A key focus will be collaborating on the significant Australian Institute of Infectious Diseases (AIID) project, bringing together three of Victoria's leading research institutes within Parkville's prestigious Biomedical Precinct to further safeguard Australia in the fight against coronavirus and future pandemics. This includes overseeing the AIID building design finalisation, fundraising, and strategic decision-making during a crucial phase of organisational expansion. Critical to success in the position will be providing sophisticated perspectives on commercial investment, business sustainability and continuity, governance, IT and information management, crisis management, strategic planning and corporate reporting.About you
With a rich background in executive enterprise leadership, you are a contemporary and entrepreneurial thinker who possesses a proven track record of successfully achieving financial, strategic and operational goals in a complex and dynamic environment. Notably, you have experience as a Chief Financial Officer reflecting expertise in strategic financial advice, adeptly managing risks, and navigating competing interests to secure optimal outcomes. Your extensive leadership spans various corporate functions, emphasising proficiency in business continuity and crisis management. As an authentic and values-driven leader, you have consistently demonstrated the ability to lead by example, foster a positive workplace culture, and engage multidisciplinary teams effectively. Furthermore, your skills include highly developed analytical and conceptual capabilities, and the capacity to devise innovative solutions, formulate strategies and drive business development.
