The work area

The Corporate Strategy and Performance directorate works in partnership with Treasury business areas to drive solutions and initiatives. This includes building the capability, performance and sustainability of Treasury and its people through the delivery of effective corporate services that cover: people and culture; organisational capability and Performance; financial management, strategic ICT and business improvement.

The opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity for a talented, innovative and results driven leader to join the Department of Treasury’s (Treasury) Directors’ team and play a key role in delivering Treasury’s strategic priorities.

Reporting to the Assistant Under Treasury Advisor Services, the Director Corporate Strategy and Performance leads the Directorate’s key deliverables, ongoing operational requirements and sets the strategic direction of the corporate services function for Treasury.

Leading the corporate services function, you will be supported by three multi-functional teams of dedicated professionals (approximately 42 staff). Working in a high energy and fast-paced environment, you will respond flexibly to business needs and ongoing change focussing on clear targets to achieve and deliver innovative, high quality business outcomes across Treasury.

This challenging role requires you to possess an inclusive leadership style that empowers team members and fosters an outstanding workplace culture. You will shape and manage strategy to ensure Treasury has the tools to deliver on its strategic priorities. You will have well developed relationship building and stakeholder management skills as well as exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. You will inspire and empower others to think innovatively and develop strategies that will successfully lead Treasury, its executive leaders and workforce into the future.
