Term - Fixed Term, 3 year contract with possibility of extension or permanency at the conclusion.
If a successful applicant is a permanent officer in the Western Australian Public Service, a secondment may be considered.
About us
The primary function of the Governor’s Establishment is to provide personal, administrative, and logistical support to enable the Governor to perform his constitutional, ceremonial and community duties.
The Office of the Governor is led by the Official Secretary and operates in five streams:
- Corporate Services
- Events and Engagement
- Estate Management
- Strategic Program Management; and
- Hospitality
The Establishment manages the Governor’s program of engagement and hospitality and is committed to managing Government House and Grounds as a significant cultural heritage asset for the community of Western Australia.
About the role
This is a unique opportunity to work in support of the Governor of Western Australia. You will join a dedicated team at the iconic heritage-listed Government House, set in 3 hectares of beautiful gardens in St Georges Terrace. You will bring your high-end accounting acumen, your management competency and your leadership qualities to help drive the delivery of support services for the Governor and Governor's Establishment.
Selection Criteria
What will you do?
- Manage the Corporate Services functions of the Establishment (including human resources, business services, records, policy and procedures, and financial).
- Lead initiatives that support sound management practices and a culture of professionalism to encourage accountability and good governance at all levels.
- Perform the functions of Chief Finance Officer and contribute to the planning, strategic management and development of the Establishment.
What we require of you
- Relevant tertiary qualification in finance, commerce, business or equivalent and current membership of CPA Australia as a CPA, Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia as a CA; Institute of Public Accountants as a Member or a recognised overseas equivalent.
- Demonstrated ability to shape and manage strategy.
- Demonstrated ability to network and develop productive relationships.
- The ability to exemplify the highest standards of personal integrity and self awareness.
- Exceptional communication skills and the ability to influence effectively.
- A positive can-do attitude.
