As the Director of the Defence Research Institute at UNSW, you will play a pivotal role in advancing our Defence Research capabilities and strengthening our collaborations with government and defence-related industries. Reporting to the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Industry & Innovation), your strategic leadership will increase both the number and value of projects while developing strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.

Who you are
You have a relevant tertiary qualification and/or experience, with a high standing in the research, defence or the defence industry communities, and can demonstrate your deep understanding of the opportunities for collaboration between UNSW and government and defence related industries, including the dual use application of technologies.
You’ll also have a proven track record as a strategic leader in areas aligned to the activities of the UNSW Defence Research Institute, as well as a strong network within in the Australian defence community and connections into AUKUS, the Quad and Five Eyes partner countries defence sectors.
