ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a Director-Extractive Industry who will play a crucial leadership role within the Hillery Group. This position is pivotal in ensuring alignment with our strategic objectives and will provide guidance and direction to our Senior Site Executive and Quarry Supervisors across our sites. The position is an exciting challenge for someone who is motivated by meeting deadlines, ensuring sales and production are of the highest quality and profitable, and monitoring department budgets. The right person will have strong business acumen skills with the ability to analyse data, establish plan parameters and create alternative plans where necessary.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Work as one with the Senior Leadership Team to develop and implement a comprehensive operational strategy aligned with the company's overall goals and objectives.
- Provide direct leadership to Site Senior Executive and Quarry Supervisors fostering an accountable, collaborative, and results-driven culture.
- Establish operational targets and drive performance improvements through the quarry department.
- Promote an engaged safety culture ensuring safety standards are implemented with a focus on risk management and at the same time compliance with the ISO standards.
- Develop and manage operational budgets, and optimise resource allocation to maximise efficiency and cost-effectiveness whilst achieving production targets.
- Maintain efficient and cost-effective project delivery.
- Promote the company and its diverse range of expertise and resources through existing and developing networks.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement identifying opportunities for optimisation implementing best practices to reduce costs and increase productivity.
- Set and communicate expectations providing support and guidance to deliver production targets, sales targets, quality standards, sustainable practices, and an accountable work culture.
- Contribute to Hillery Group’s compliance by adhering to all safety protocols and fostering a culture of zero harm.
- Utilise your initiative and critical thinking skills to identify and solve issues as they arise.
ABOUT YOU
- A Bachelor, Associate Degree, or Diploma of Management (preferable)
- Qualifications pertaining to SSE Notice Certificate IV and Diploma of Surface Extractions (not essential)
- Proven experience in senior leadership or management roles where you were responsible for changing the culture and the strength of the business or department.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with all stakeholders.
- Possess high levels of resilience and determination to achieve successful outcomes.
- Proficient in multiple software applications and Microsoft products, preferably planning or project management software.
- Australian citizen or right to work in Australia.
- Provide a current Coal Board Medical (preferable).
