The Office of the Auditor General is looking to expand our Financial Audit team with fresh thinking to join our dynamic and diverse teams analysing financial information, identifying issues and improving accountability and transparency within the public sector.

Our Auditors work across a varied portfolio of audit clients across Western Australia, planning, conducting and reporting on audit results. We focus on state government, local government and the tertiary sector providing our staff with great exposure to the diverse range of services provided to the WA community.

We currently have several full time, permanent positions available.

We are establishing a pool of candidates for full or part time, permanent and fixed term vacancies that arise until (30 October 2025). Fixed term appointments may have the possibility of permanency.

This process may also be used to fill other "similar" vacancies (permanent, fixed term, full-time or part time) within six months of the date of completion of the recruitment process.

As part of this process, you will be assessed on the following:

  • strong experience as a Financial Auditing professional
  • experience building and leading teams to achieve strategic outcomes
  • proven ability to analyse, interpret and report on complex financial data
  • proven ability to confidently communicate in a clear, concise and articulate manner to influence and negotiate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • a bachelor degree and full membership with a relevant professional accounting body
  • continual learning through ongoing professional development

Financial auditors travel outside of the Perth CBD and to regional locations for extended stays.

The OAG conducts employment screening for successful applicants, including a national police clearance. An Australian Government security clearance may be undertaken, if required for the role.
