Applications are invited to fill a full-time, temporary vacancy for the role of Director, FMS Response team available immediately until 30 June 2024.

The Director, FMS Response Team will work in the Chief Operating Officer Group and across City Services.

This position requires someone who enjoys a challenge, can lead people and get in and get the job done. This position requires someone with a considered and engaging people focus to successfully deliver and drive a culture of success, fostering respect and a desire to achieve customer service excellence, with the ability to respond to changing Ministerial priorities. The ideal candidate will possess an innate ability to draw on the right skills in a contextually and environmentally appropriate manner, align team performance and develop capacity to achieve results.

The successful applicant will report through to both the COO and EGM, City Operations to deliver on the Fix My Street improvement program in TCCS. The FMS Response Team includes two teams: a triaging team responsible for dealing with customers (including over the phone in a call centre like environment) and supporting operational business units to triage and respond to jobs logged in Fix My Street; and a technical FMS Remediation Team that is responsible for system fixes to improve the experience for Canberra citizens and also field staff. The candidate will work closely with both the COO Office and also EGM, City Operations, DDG City Services and across City Operations.

This role requires excellent written skills and the ability to analyse and present information strategically to Executives and Ministers, as well as manage project success and deliverables in a challenging environment. Bringing together two diverse teams to collaborate and be inspired to achieve results is critical, as well as the ability to deliver in a fast-paced and high pressure environment.

The successful candidate will need to be able to also work closely with TCCS operational areas, and this will require working in the Office and potentially from different TCCS locations across Canberra.

Chief Operating Officer

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) Group is responsible for delivering corporate services across the Directorate to ensure TCCS can deliver connected services. The group is responsible for establishing good governance practices, ensuring the health and wellbeing of all employees, people management, finance, ICT, digital and data reform, legal and governance frameworks, increased maturity in safety, and delivery of processes improvements across the directorate, as well as Ministerial services and support.

City Services Division

City Services (CS) delivers a wide range of services which Canberran's rely on every day. These include collecting recycling and rubbish removal, running public libraries, mowing open space, managing our roads, footpaths and cycle paths. City Services also maintain many of Canberra's lakes, ponds, public open spaces, city places and urban trees. The Division also manages ACT NoWaste.

Notes: This is a temporary position available immediately until 30 June 2024. This position is based within a workplace designed for activity-based working (ABW).
