Ours is an energetic, fast-paced way of working that is solutions focused and collaborative.We have an exciting opportunity for a Director for Medical Affairs (Australia & New Zealand) who will be responsible for strategic leadership of Alexion Medical Affairs in Australia and New Zealand.What you'll do:Reporting to the General Manager - Australia & New Zealand of Alexion, as the Director, Medical Affairs, you will be tasked with developing, implementing, and evaluating local medical strategy aligning with company objectives within Australia and New Zealand. You will lead the MA team to ensure best practice liaison with other brand team members including marketing, market access and sales, to optimize national communication and execution. You will oversee and support preparation of medical strategic plans, aligned with global Medical Affairs (GMA), supporting best medical practice with the intended outcomes of improving patient outcomes.In this role, you will be an active member of the Australian Leadership Team (ALT), contribute to the development of organizational leadership strategies and focus on delivering results based on patient's needs and compliance objectives.Essential for the role:

  • Significant experience in a similar leadership role within pharmaceutical industry, Medical Affairs/clinical development
  • Tertiary qualifications - Life Science/Medical degree; Masters, PHD preferred
  • Proven track record for delivering consistent results through development of high performing successful teams
  • Demonstrated experience in leading teams through change management, showcasing strong perseverance and resilience
  • Proven strategic thinking ability with strong analytical skills and tactical flexibility
  • Experience working cross-functionally in all levels of an organization in a matrix environment with diverse teams across local, regional and global teams.
  • Experience managing numerous work-streams at one time and delivering high quality outcomes
  • Learning agility: intellectual curiosity and proven ability to learn new skills dynamically
Desirable for the role:
  • Experience with highly specialized or rare disease and/or Orphan drug
