About us
This is a rare opportunity to be working in a small purpose built center with a team of motivated staff, who work collaboratively to achieve the best outcomes for children and families within the service and to be a part of a community where everyone feels valued.
At Little Souls we provide the highest quality Care and Education to all children from the ages of 2- 6yrs. In addition to our childcare program we provide one on one Early Intervention programs for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
Our Centre operates between 7am and 5pm Monday to Friday catering for children between the ages of 2 – 6 yrs. We are licensed for up to 28 children and open for 50 weeks per year.
What we are seeking
As Director of Childcare/ Nominated Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing and leading a team of Educators to ensure they are working in accordance with the service philosophy, company policies and procedures & the National Quality Standards (NQS), to provide quality education and care for all families and children.
Key Competencies
- You will need to be an independent and a critical thinker, with outstanding communication skills and problem solving abilities
- Strong understanding of industry legislation, compliance, and regulations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively in a team environment
- Strong understanding of the importance of family communications
Key responsibilities for the position will include:
The newly appointed Director will be required to
- Ensure the service’s policies and procedures are being met
- Ensure regulatory requirements are being followed and met
- Administrative duties including but not limited to app usage, emails, accounts and enrolments
- Mentoring and guiding Educators
- Ensuring an inclusive, supportive and educational environment for all children
- Involved in marketing the service
- Organizing informal events for the center
- Work with the Finance Officer to monitor and participate in the preparation of the program budget and have an understanding of business finance
- Assist in conducting Centre-based staff meetings and attend other relevant meetings and in-service courses
Our selection criteria:
- Bachelor of Education Early Childhood or Diploma in Children's Services (Bachelor degree highly regarded)
- Must have previous experience as a Centre Director or 2 years minimum experience as an Assistant Director (2IC)
- Previous experience with Xplor & Playground is highly regarded but not essential
- Empathetic communicator with values that align with the services values and philosophy
- Current Blue Card, First Aid Certificate including CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis or be willing to obtain these

Desirable Criteria:
- Previous experience working with children with additional needs
- Competent in social media and maintaining a social media presence
- Strong and confident in an understanding of business management
- Willingness to develop a basic understanding of the National Disability Insurance Scheme
