St Vincent's Hospital Melbourne has a very exciting and rare opportunity for the role of Director of General Medicine
- You are able to provide clinical leadership to the General Medical Department whilst meeting agreed operational, service delivery and other relevant targets as determined by the Chief Operating Officer
- You will ensure high quality healthcare is delivered through exceptional leadership and knowledge across all aspects of General and Acute Care Medicine
- You have the ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary team demonstrating effective communication skills and the capacity to liaise professionally and collegiately with internal and external stakeholder groups
- Appointees must be legally qualified medical practitioners, registered or registrable with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Fellowship of the Royal Australiasian College of Physicians.

The General Medical Department is the largest clinical unit within SVHM with approximately 3,000 separations per year. Over 90% of inpatients are admitted acutely via the emergency department. The General Medical Department at SVHM manages a wide variety of complex patients with most having more than a single diagnosis on presentation and a background of significant comorbidities.
