The Chief Clinical Advisor Group protects and enhances the safety, health and well-being and quality of life of people receiving aged care by driving a higher standard of clinical rigour across the aged care sector.

About the Role

A full-time, up to 12-month non-ongoing opportunity exists in any Commission location for a Director, Operations in the Chief Clinical Advisor Group (CCAG). Reporting to the Senior Director, the Director will establish and lead a new section within the Chief Clinical Advisor Group (CCAG). 

The Director, Operations is responsible for supporting the daily operations of the Chief Clinical Advisor Group (CCAG). This will be achieved by ensuring efficient and effective service delivery, improving operational processes and leading projects aimed at enhancing the functions of the Chief Clinical Advisor Group. As Director of CCAG Operations, you will bring an understanding of the role and function of the Commission as an integrated, risk-based regulator and how the CCAG supports the Commissions purpose and functions, together with effective leadership and management skills to establish and maintain the Operations team as a responsive, versatile and high performing team.

Key Accountabilities

  • Establish a new section within the Chief Clinical Advisor Group (CCAG), recruiting new team members as and when required. Lead the Operations team with a forward-thinking approach, anticipating future challenges and opportunities, and preparing the group to adapt and thrive.
  • Support and develop the overall strategic roadmap for the Chief Clinical Advisor Group, working closely with the two Senior Directors to ensure alignment with the overall business strategy.
  • Working closely with the two Chief Clinical Advisor Group’s Senior Director’s, to own and drive governance including continuous improvement initiatives across the CCAG.
  • Working with other team members of the Chief Clinical Advisor Group, to identify opportunities for improvement in current processes to streamline overall processes for the Group with the objective of improving customer and team member experience.
  • Analyse customer, operational and financial data, identify trends and provide insights. Regularly report these findings to executive leadership with actionable recommendations.
  • Ensure compliance with legislative, regulatory and employer policy requirements.

  • Provide management leadership to the Operations team and oversee the effective and efficient delivery of its functions.
  • Highly developed leadership and management skills, including ability to lead a team in a dynamic environment, foster a positive and supportive team culture and working relationships.
  • Demonstrated experience leading or being a key participant in a large project, including understanding change management requirements.
  • Demonstrated understanding of and experience of implementing and embedding quality systems, quality assurance and continuous improvement activities.
  •  Demonstrated ability to effectively manage interpersonal relationships with respect and communicate with influence with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Highly developed written and oral communication skills and demonstrated ability to communicate information coherently and concisely to audiences with a range of backgrounds and cultures.
  • Demonstrated ability to set priorities, meet deadlines, work effectively under pressure and work effectively in a team environment.
  • Knowledge, and expertise in leadership in clinical governance within complex organisations
  • Ability to travel interstate when required.
  • Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills including the ability to exercise good judgement, identify priorities and discriminate between options based on evidence.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to evaluate complex issues from multiple perspectives and drive smart decision making.
  • Capacity to work in a busy environment, successfully handling competing priorities and ability to effectively manage and prioritise workload distributed among a team to deliver agreed outcomes.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and build relationships based on trust, credibility, and fairness.
  • Self-awareness of own performance and a commitment to personal development.
  • Demonstrated professionalism, including responding to pressure and setbacks in a controlled manner.

Highly Desirable Capabilities

  • Understanding of key clinical risks in aged care is highly desirable.
  • Proficiencies in Sharepoint, PowerBI, excel and project management tools.
  • Understanding of the role of the Commission as an integrated, risk-based regulator and how the role and function of the Chief Clinical Advisor Group supports the Commissions purpose and functions, including an understanding of the accountabilities and responsibilities of clinicians.

Position Details

Salary offered will be between $136,307 and $161, 381 per annum depending on skills and experience. In addition, 15.4% superannuation will be paid.

Roles are offered on an Ongoing/Non-Ongoing basis, with Non-Ongoing roles offered for an initial period of up to 12 months, with the possibility of one extension up to an additional 12 months.
