The Student Achievement Division is seeking to establish a pool of qualified and experienced Directors for fixed term appointment when required. While the position is based in East Perth, other locations will be considered.
About the Business Unit
The Department of Education's strategic plan outlines the commitment for every child to enjoy a high quality of education. Principals perform one of the most valued roles in our system. Their leadership is central in supporting better outcomes for our students. The Department is committed to supporting our principals through the Principal Professional Review (PPR).
As a key part of our Department's senior leadership team, our Directors support principals through the PPR, which contributes to strengthening public confidence that every principal is operating effectively and is being supported to provide high quality leadership to all schools across the Western Australian public education system.
About the Role
As a delegate of the Director General, you will support principals to reflect on their role, how they are meeting expectations and where they can improve. The focus is on professional growth, support and assurance.
To be successful in this role, you will be confident in building relationships as you will be required to work collaboratively with principals, Corporate Executive, Directors of Education and Collegiate Principals. You will need to demonstrate your exemplary leadership capability when meeting comprehensive reporting requirements.
As a Director, while providing you with diverse work experiences and opportunities, you will be required to travel state-wide across all public school education settings.
