The Director, Procurement & Contract Management supports IP Australia to achieve our strategic objectives and meet our obligations under the Commonwealth Procurement Rules and other relevant legislation. The Director does this by leading a small team of subject matter experts and working as a trusted advisor to the organisation on Procurement and Contract Management matters.
Position duties
- Provide expert advice, assurance and reporting to the organisation on Procurement and Contract Management matters.
- Lead a team to provide Procurement and Contract Management services to the organisation including:
- Maintaining appropriate Procurement and Contract Management frameworks, policies and guidance and supporting their effective implementation through proactive stakeholder engagement;
- Providing accurate, complete and timely advice that appropriately considers business outcomes;
- Implementing simple and effective Procurement and Contract Management tools for staff;
- Monitoring and reporting on organisational Procurement and Contract Management and performance including risks;
- Identifying and implementing appropriate training and awareness programs to build the Procurement and Contract Management capability of staff.
- Build effective working relationships with the Executive and all business areas, including the Office of Legal Counsel.
- Work across the organisation to identify and implement innovation and business improvement opportunities related to Procurement and Contract Management.
- Build effective relationships with other government entities to share and implement better practice Procurement and Contract Management practices.
