Your role:
As Director you will:
* Oversee and coordinate the development and implementation of a nationally significant project agreed to in principle by Education Ministers to deliver the 16 recommendations from the final report of the Review of Child Safety Arrangements under the National Quality Framework (Review), in Queensland.
* Lead the coordination of jurisdictional policy development and regulatory impact work, reporting to the Early Childhood Policy Group Child Safety Review Program Team. This position will require and significant coordination with other jurisdictional teams to achieve national success.
Responsibilities include:
* Autonomously establishing and overseeing the policy coordination of implementing key recommendations in Queensland, including:
* developing robust policy positions and nationally consistent communications;
* leading consultation and decision regulatory impact statements;
* representing the project and Queensland through genuine and thoughtful stakeholder consultation with the sector and key parties; and
* overseeing the project's life-cycle and mitigating arising risks to ensure the project's success.
* Identify and critically analyse emergent educational, economic or social issues that may impact upon the division's strategic direction and its implementation of early childhood education and care outcomes.
* Provide and prepare expert and strategic advice, Cabinet submissions, policy responses, speeches, articles and briefings for the Minister, Director-General and Deputy Director-General and members of the Executive Management Board.
* Provide analysis and interpretation of amendments to legislation, national and state policy and practices to ensure the appropriateness of the department's strategies in meeting changing legal and policy requirements.
* Manage a hybrid and agile team, finances and physical resources.
