About the Role
Are you ready to lead the charge in shaping the future of strategic infrastructure development? We are seeking an innovative and forward-thinking individual to lead our team as the Director of Strategy, Planning, and Innovation. This role presents a unique opportunity to occupy a central position in steering policy development, executing strategies, and facilitating cross-government collaboration to address critical infrastructure challenges aligned with the priorities of the NSW Government. The primary focus will be on spearheading initiatives related to the net zero transition and bolstering resilience within the infrastructure sector.
Some of the key accountabilities for the role include:
- Driving definition of the scope of work, deliverables, and work plans in a fast-paced environment with evolving workstreams.
- Drawing on technical expertise relating to infrastructure project design, delivery and/or procurement processes to provide advice and inform policy development and implementation.
- Engaging with senior stakeholders to inform the team's work, influence related workstreams, and identify inter-related activities to align efforts across government.
- Establishing and maintaining productive working relationships and networks with stakeholders from NSW Government, industry and other jurisdictions to promote collaboration on policy matters.
The ideal candidate for this role possesses either tertiary qualifications in a related field or substantial relevant experience in a comparable position. They should exhibit a comprehensive understanding of the entire lifecycle of infrastructure projects within the NSW Government, spanning from inception to practical completion. Moreover, a nuanced comprehension of NSW Government policy and the industry landscape pertaining to the transition to net zero in infrastructure is crucial. The role requires expertise in infrastructure procurement and design specifically geared towards decarbonisation. A proven track record of effectively influencing and negotiating with senior government officials in complex stakeholder environments is essential. Additionally, the candidate should bring prior experience collaborating with both government and industry stakeholders on intricate infrastructure matters.
