Queensland Health’s Health Capital Division is leading the charge in revolutionising healthcare infrastructure across the state. With a commitment to delivering high-quality healthcare services to Queenslanders, they are embarking on the biggest hospital expansion program in the state’s history, known as the Queensland Health Big Build. This ambitious initiative involves building new hospitals, expanding existing facilities, and upgrading rural and regional health centers to ensure accessible and top-notch healthcare for all.
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director to lead our Transaction Management Team within the Health Capital Division. As the Director, you will play a pivotal role in supervising and executing transactions related to construction contracts, particularly those exceeding $100 million in value or possessing complex characteristics. You will be responsible for formulating Transaction Management and negotiation strategies, supporting tender negotiations, and ensuring the highest standards of compliance and efficiency are met throughout the process.
Key Responsibilities:

• Provide strategic leadership to the Transaction Management Team, guiding them in the execution of transactions related to construction contracts.
• Develop and implement Transaction Management and negotiation strategies to ensure successful outcomes in complex contract negotiations.
• Collaborate effectively with Government agencies and private sector partners to address transactional and contracting complexities.
• Seamlessly integrate Transaction Management activities with procurement and contract management functions to optimise efficiency and compliance.
• Ensure that transactions are completed successfully, meeting the highest standards of compliance and efficiency, while creating value in health infrastructure projects for Queenslanders.
• Foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the Transaction Management Team.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Deep knowledge and expertise in construction contracting, preferably within the Queensland Government context.
• Proven track record of successfully leading Transaction Management teams in complex contracting environments.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate across Government agencies and the private sector to address complex transactional and contracting matters.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
• A mature approach to working across multiple streams of closely related work, such as contract management and procurement.
