We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Employment Consultant/Work Coach to join our Hampden region DES team.
About Our Role
Reporting to the Southwest DES Team Leader, you will maintain a caseload of participants, using participant centred coaching to achieve their goals and develop pathways to employment.
You will work with your participants to uncover their interests, passions and skills, helping them build their confidence and undertake additional training to become job ready and secure employment.
In addition, you’ll provide post-placement support and provide support mechanisms to ensure they thrive in the workplace.
A solid understanding of person-centred case management principles including planning and goal setting will be core to your success.
You will have a good understanding of the local labour market and liaise with the community and employers to identify new and ongoing employment opportunities.
This role will primarily be based at our Warrnambool office but also providing outreach at our Mortlake and Colac sites.
About the Successful Candidate
To be successful in this role ideally you will have a tertiary qualification in counselling, social work or psychology or have a certificate IV in Disability Support and/or Community Services.
Experience working as a DES Employment Consultant/Mentor/Coach or an experienced counsellor in the disability sector is highly regarded.
You will have outstanding organisation and time management skills with high levels of interpersonal skills, and strong written and verbal communication.
With a genuine passion in helping participants gain employment you will help to foster our teams high-performing participant focused culture.
You will also have advanced Microsoft Office skills including Word, Outlook and Excel, and advanced skills in ESS and experience using iCase or Bridge CRM.
