The Employment Pathways Practitioner will oversee a series of activities that can be packaged into ‘employment pathways' options for people with a disability. The activities may include assessing the pre-employment & employment needs of people with a disability, assisting with employment related capacity building, preparing them for work, assisting them to achieve employment & supporting them to maintain employment. This may be completed with individuals or within a group.
As an Employment Pathways Practitioner, your role is to provide customised employment assistance to participants. Typical duties include:
- Goal setting & action planning & steps to achieve goals
- Employment preparation, hard & soft skills training & confidence building
- Job skills analysis, employment & skills assessment & counselling
- Mentoring & on the job coaching for volunteering, work experience or paid work with both small groups & individuals
- Post placement support to participant & employers

About You
Our ideal Employment Pathways Practitioner is an effective communicator who is committed to the inclusion of people with disabilities within the community. They will transferable skills that allows them to coach and mentor whilst balance the need for administration and compliance tasks.
Essential:
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check or willing to obtain
- Current NDIS Worker Orientation Module certificate of completion or willing to obtain
- Current Working with Children Check or willing to obtain
- Current First Aid Certificate or willing to obtain
- Ability to transport participants in own vehicle (current license, car and comprehensive insurance required)
Desirable:
- Sound understanding and experience in delivering person centred supports
- Cert 3 or 4 in disability, community services or similar
- Experience working in the NDIS environment
