Better Care Options provides individual support to clients with disabilities, injuries and those needing care as they get older across the Melbourne Metropolitan region. This role provides the opportunity to work with NDIS participants and other leading care organisations.
We are looking to expand our Disability Support Team by recruiting a Disability Support Worker for an exciting, flexible, and rewarding role in the Sandringham area. 3-4 weekly 3 hour shifts available.
Position Description:
- Support participant to develop and meet their funding agency, personal and therapy-based goals
- Support entails community access and in home support
- Undertake associated duties as directed and in accordance with the client’s preferences, your (our staff member’s) experience and professional judgement, and the client’s guardians/stakeholders
- Transport clients to and from their desired/ required destinations.
- Support the client in their areas of personal growth and enhance their quality of life. This includes supporting specific recommendations/therapies recommended by their other practitioners
- Complete relevant documentation. This includes writing progress notes about your interaction with the client after every shift, which is then uploaded to the nominated portal designated by Better Care Options
- Establish, maintain, and respect the confidentiality of the client. This includes not sharing client information or images on social media, face-to-face or by any other means, and unconsented disclosure of sensitive or private client information to any other party.
What you will need:
- To be a fluent English speaker
- Australian work permit/residency/citizenship
- Minimum Cert III or IV in disability.
- Valid Working with Children Check
- Current Police Check
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate
- Proof of COVID-19 vaccination (or certificates)
- Valid Victorian Driver's license, a reliable vehicle and comprehensive car insurance
- Vehicle needs to be easily accessible for the client and be able to transpost a folding mobility scooter
- A reliable mobile/smart phone
