As a Disability Support Worker, you will directly impact the lives of others by supporting them to achieve their goals and live fulfilling lives! North Foundation is a registered NDIS provider that provides core support to NDIS participants across the greater Melbourne (Naarm) region.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide 1:1 support to individuals, taking a strength-based and person-centred approach whilst ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met.
• Supporting individuals with personal care such as dressing, feeding and medication administration as per their care plan.
• Supporting individuals with domestic tasks such as cleaning and cooking,
• Supporting individuals to exercise their choice and control by engaging in activities that align with their interests and goals.
• Transporting participants to and from appointments and activities.
• Providing overnight support when required.
Skills and Experience
• Prior experience in individual support or similar (preferred but not essential).
• Demonstrated experience in handling complex situations with confidence and integrity.
• Proven ability to support participants with a range of varied needs, inclusive of social and personal impacts, physical, neurological, intellectual, and psychosocial disabilities.
• Confidence in supporting participants with use of assistive technology.
• Uphold comprehensive communication skills between the participant, their supports, and the in-office client coordination team.
• Display strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to problem solve, decision make and work under pressure.
• Ability to prioritise client privacy and security in line with the NDIS Code of Conduct.
• Comprehensive written communication skills.
• Commitment to supporting participants to progress and work towards their goals through a focus on capacity building.
Essential
• Reliable vehicle, unrestricted Victorian drivers’ licence, and comprehensive car insurance.
• Certificate III in individual support.
• Satisfactory police check.
• Working with children clearance.
• NDIS workers screening.
• First Aid and CPR (or willingness to obtain).
