GSL: A Good Start to Life
Looking for a huge daily dose of ‘feel good’?
We exist because not all children who were born with, or acquire a disability, have a good start to life and we are searching for anyone with a big heart and the patience of a saint to join us.
Littles through to young adults living with a disability, need what you can give - a little bit role-model, a little bit mentor, and a little bit best friend. They need someone they can look up to no matter how tall they grow.
Qualifications not necessary (we will train you) but the following are a must....
We like:
- Perform tasks to support the health, hygiene and general well-being of clients including personal care
- Assist clients to achieve their goals though individual support plans
- Perform a range of household tasks with clients which can range from cooking meals, cleaning & shopping
- Support clients to access their community and attend medical appointments
We need:
- A current Disability Worker Screening Clearance Card & Blue Card (working with Children) is required before you can commence work.
- Child Safety and Personal History Screening Check (LCS 2)
- Mobile Phone
- Current unrestricted Queensland Drivers Licence and insured vehicle
We love:
- A strong desire to have a positive effect on people with disabilities and mental illness, and a commitment to supporting and promoting their individual needs, skills, abilities, and personal goals
- Availability and willingness to work any day or time of the week or weekend.
