The role
We are seeking experienced Disability Support Workers for casual shifts, in Geelong area. Your primary responsibility will be to support NDIS participants living with a disability in their private homes. This can involve manual handling, community access, transportation, personal care and companionship. This role is perfect for someone with a person-centred approach, who is energetic and excited to make a difference in people’s lives and is passionate about the work they do
Shift time: Various shifts available.
Eligibility criteria:
- Minimum of 12 months paid experience in supporting people with disabilities.
- Certificate IV in Disability
- National Police Check clearance no older than 6 months.
- Must have High Manual Handling Skills e.g. transferring people with hoist.
- Must have High Challenging Behaviour skills and experience such as verbal and physical aggression, absconding and self-harming behaviours.
- Must have excellent communication skills.
- NDIS Worker Screening Check Clearance.
- Own reliable vehicle and comprehensive car insurance are essential.
- Covid-19 fully vaccinated.
- Current First Aidand CPR certificate.
- Employment Working with Children’s Check.
- Two relevant, professional and industry related reference checks.
