Our Opportunity:
The Disability Trust are seeking casual Disability Support Workers to join our team in the Gold Coast region in Queensland. We offer a rewarding opportunity where you will provide one-on-one dedicated support to a range of participants across various age groups.
Our paid mandatory on-boarding training commences 13 May 2024 for 2 weeks. In order to be adequately trained to work on the floor, you will be required to attend this training.
What will a day in my role look like?
While no two days are ever quite the same, your day-to-day role responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with attendance at appointments and other community-based activities.
- Engaging in skill building activities both individually and in a group setting.
- Delivering personal care to our participant, both in home and out and about in the community.
- Providing meaningful and active support to enable participants to achieve their goals.
- Supporting children and/or adults safely and appropriately during challenging behaviours
This is a career opportunity that allows you to work alongside participants and build a meaningful relationship with them. We also offer scope and variety with an opportunity to work across our other services as they become available.
We offer varied shift hours from morning, afternoon, evening, and sleepover shifts across the week and including weekends.

What You Need:
- Yellow Card (NDIS Worker Screening Check) and Blue Card (Working with Children Check)
- Two doses of a COVID-19 vaccination
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Current Driver's Licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
- Experience working with children and adults with disability is highly desirable
