We require a committed team of Support Workers, with the ability to follow defined health support processes, to provide support to a mature-aged male in areas of personal care, gastrostomy feeding, medication administration and hoist transfers from bed to wheelchair. Tailored training will be provided by our Management team and Registered Nurse on all aspects of supports required.
Our client experienced a stroke and now requires assistance with all physical needs.
The role is within a family home located in Tahmoor and will include close interaction with family members, with a professional yet caring approach.
Shifts are available across all days of the week, including weekends. Shift structures are as follows and applicants must be able to meet exact shift times:
Shift 1: 7.00am to 2.30pm (7.5 hours)
Shift 2: 7.00am to 9.00am (2 hours)
Shift 3: 11.30am to 4.00pm (4.5 hours)
Shift 4: 3.00pm to 9.00pm (6 hours @ evening rate)
Active overnight shifts may be commencing from April/May (TBC).
Essential Requirements:
- Cert III or higher in Disability/Community Services/Individual Support or related field
- Demonstrated experience, knowledge and understanding of people living with disabilities
- Experience providing respectful supports within a persons home
- Experience providing personal care
Highly Desirable (Training will be provided):
- Demonstrated experience, knowledge and understanding of people with acquired injury who have high physical support needs
- Experience in supporting people with medication administration and hoist transfers
- Experience supporting adults with epilepsy and dementia
Plus (mandatory):
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Current First Aid Certificate including CPR
- Valid Driver's Licence & vehicle with full comprehensive insurance
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module
- Infection Control Training
This role requires a commitment to approx. 25+ hours per week to provide consistency of care.
