Immediate start for qualified Disability Support Workers. Nursing and palliative care experience preferred.
We are seeking passionate, energetic and caring Disability Support Workers particularly with experience supporting people with mental health diagnosis, palliative care needs and other complex physical and intellectual disabilities. Applicants must have availability to work across a variety of shifts starting at 6:45 a.m., overnights and one weekend per fortnight. Apply to be a part of our dynamic Engedi Team!
- Multiple Casual Positions available, with the potential of permanent part-time contracts set at 60 hours per fortnight with additional shifts as required for staff who have desired availability.
- Flexible shifts based on client roster needs on a 24/7 rotating roster which includes evenings, awake shifts, sleepovers and weekend shifts;
- Previous experience desirable;

Responsibilities will include:
- Meeting our clients’ individual needs in the least restrictive way possible
- Mentoring clients and assisting them to develop skills - guiding people to develop independent living skills- “do with, not for”
- Being a positive role model and provide positive support to our clients’ in areas such as emotional behaviour, assistance with personal care and hygiene, transport, education, cooking and domestic duties
- Assisting in dispensing client medication and adherence to client support plans
- Manual handling and transport
- Completing clear, concise and factual handover notes and incident reports;
- Managing complex and challenging client behaviours (including aggressive behaviours)
- Supporting our clients to engage with their local communities and culture through access to Community Participation Programs and recreational activities
- Nurturing dignity, autonomy and positive self-esteem
What you will bring:
- Hold or be working towards obtaining a qualification in Disability Support (preferred)
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal
- Ability to take initiative and work as part of a team
- Current drivers license and registered vehicle (mandatory requirement)

- NDIS Worker Orientation Module (mandatory requirement);
- Preferably previous experience supporting people with a range of behavioral concerns and needs
