Unidex Healthcare are a privately owned recruitment company established in 2001 and operate across Australia, with our main offices in Victoria, New South Wales, South Australia and Queensland. Unidex actively recruit for all areas in the healthcare field specialising in Disability Services, Support Services and Allied Health.
The Role:
We are currently looking for Disability Support Workers to partner with a 20-year-old male participant based in Manilla, NSW. Our participant recently sustained a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and has lost lower limb & some upper limb movement.
The current care plan in place requires support 10 hours a day, 7 x days a week. There are Morning shifts and Afternoon shifts available. The hours include:
- The Morning shift hours will be (9:00am - 4:00pm)
- The Afternoon shift hours will be (4:00pm - 7:00pm)
Due the complexity of the participant, successful candidates must have experience with Traumatic Brain Injuries, hoisting, PEG feeding and transfers in out of vehicles. Training will be provided.
Pay Rates:
- Day - $38.75 per hour
- Afternoon - $42.63 per hour
- Saturday - $54.25 per hour
- Sunday - $69.75 per hour
Key Responsibilities:
- Assistance with domestic tasks including cleaning & meal preparation
- PEG feeding (Preferred but not essential) - Training will be provided
- Community access (Transfers in & out of vehicle are essential)
- Assistance with toileting (changing of continence aids)
- Assistance with Health & Rehab exercises
- Hoisting (full hoist/sling hoist)
- Assistance with personal care
- Administrating Medication
- Completing skin checks
Skills & Experiences:
- Reliable, proactive and positive attitude
- NDIS Effective Communication Module
- Infection Control Training - Covid19
- Current National Police Clearance
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module
- Current NDIS Screening check
- First Aid & CPR Certificate
- Australian Driver Licence
- Current WWCC
