About the role:
Beyond the Spectrum are seeking motivated male and female Disability Support Workers in the Fraser Coast and Gympie region who can work in alignment and exhibit strong values in line with our Organisational values, passion, integrity, respect and empathy.
To be successful in this position you will:
· have the ability to service the Fraser Coast and surrounding areas including providing transportation
· be a valued member of our high needs’ teams
· excel in caring and advocating for both young individuals and adults living with disabilities independently, in group settings and in professional environments
· provide community access activities including social support and companionship, recreational and community-based activities and behavioural support
· assist with personal care which may include but is not limited to light domestic duties (meal prep, cooking/dietary requirements), guiding and supporting on gaining the skills in independence in everyday life choices and assisting with personal hygiene.
· Has strong attention to detail and upholds Beyond the Spectrums values, and mission statement at all times.
· Provide kindness and understanding in all work settings, through clear communication.
Requirements:
· Flexible to work a range of shifts including, mornings, afternoons, evenings, overnights, and weekends
· Be physically fit
· Current Qld Drivers licence
· Road worthy and Registered vehicle and insurance
· Blue card with NDIS workers screen check
· First Aid & CPR- willing to obtain
· Ability to work or willingness to undergo training for PEG feeding, Tracheostomy, aid changes, and safe practices of administering Medications
· Good verbal and written communication
· Conflict resolution and problem solving
