About the role, and you!
- Experience in supporting clients with a disability (physical and/or intellectual/mental health) or with Residential youth or age care programs
- Nursing or allied health experience highly regarded
- Positive ‘can-do’ attitude, sense of humour and a ready smile
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and computer literacy
- Model reliability and flexibility by being able to work varied hours and days to meet the needs of the client (rostered shifts with reliable hours)
- Ability to undertake shifts 6am - 2pm, and 2pm - 10pm preferred
- Availability to do active overnights will be highly regarded
- Understanding of NDIS Quality & Safeguards values and purpose
- A belief in anything is possible and the fortitude to assist others to make that happen
- Experience in restrictive practices techniques
- Interested in neuroscience techniques and a passion for working with people with dual diagnosis/Positive Behaviour Support Plans; assisting people find better ways to communicate and identify ways in which to meet the clients needs creating a safe environment; establishing trust and working together to create stable foundations for clients to live their best life
- Successful candidates will receive ongoing training in a supportive work environment
All applicants must have:
- Australian Citizenship or correct Visa to work in Australia
- Current Australian Drivers license
- Current First Aid & CPR Certificate (or be willing to obtain, Wellness will pay for this)
- Willingness to undergo an “NDIS Worker Screening Check” and a Suitability Card (Blue Card) prior to commencing employment
