We are seeking Disability Support Workers for our new SIL in Pakenham, Victoria opening in March/April 2024.
Desirable:
- Proven or lived experience as a Disability Support Worker or in a similar role
- Preferably experience working with Alzheimer's/Dementia
- Certificate III or IV in Disability Support, a related field, or ability to obtain
- Manual handling training
- Knowledge and understanding of Disability Support principles, policies, and practices.
Varying shifts to choose from Monday to Sunday.
Potentially:-
7am to 4.00pm
3.45pm to 7.15am (including sleepover)

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Providing hands-on support and care to individuals with physical and neurological disabilities.
- Assisting individuals with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, medication administration, and household tasks.
- Promoting independence and facilitating community participation.
- Following personalised care plans to meet the unique needs of each individual.
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic care and support.
- Maintaining accurate and timely documentation of care provided and reporting any changes in individual's needs.
- Adhering to all safety protocols and guidelines to guarantee a safe working environment for yourself and the people we support.
You must have or have the ability to obtain:
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Police Check
- Working with Children's Check
- Ability to communicate effectively with individuals with disabilities, their families, and other stakeholders.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with the people we support.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think on your feet in challenging situations.
- Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
