Our Federal Government client is seeking a Disinformation Analyst to join their Communications Planning and Public Diplomacy Branch. This area has a requirement for an analyst to monitor and assess, using proven intelligence processes, the impact of disinformation activity by malign actors in the Indo-Pacific and other areas of focus.
You will work within a small team of analysts to contribute to the monitoring and assessment function of CDB through the development of high quality, evidence based, assessment product that supports the Department and Government objectives.
Duties
- Conduct all source analysis on disinformation
- Manage information (source reports) in a logical manner that allows referencing and recall when needed
- Prepare monitoring and assessment reports that answer CDB information requirements in accordance with CDB reporting routine
- Represent CDB at Disinformation Analyst exchanges and forums, as required
Essential skills & experience
- Training in all source intelligence analysis
- Minimum 5 years’ experience applying intelligence processes
- The ability to adapt to dynamic requests for reports
- A strong understanding of Measurement and Evaluation approaches
Desired skills & experience
The CDB Disinformation Analyst will inform decision making on policy and effects, not typical of DFAT’s usual work, therefore meeting any of the below criteria will increase the strength of an application:
- Experience working in the National Intelligence Community or other government agencies
- TSPV security clearance
- Training in targeting and effects planning and execution
- Experience, formal qualifications or an academic background in demographics, sociology, cultural studies, international policy
- Mandarin language skills
