Beacon Laundry is a large-scale social enterprise commercial laundry, on Bundjalung Country in Bangalow.
What sets Beacon Laundry apart is that it's grounded in working with local communities across the region to provide job opportunities and employment pathways for people with barriers to employment including those living with a disability, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, lived mental health and an experience of sleeping rough. In the process, using environmentally conscious principles as part of our operations creates the smallest possible environmental footprint while maximising social purpose.
Beacon Laundry is a start-up of White Box Enterprises and plays a part in our goal to create 5,000 jobs by 2030 for Australians facing barriers to employment.
THE ROLE
We now need a Full Time Dispatch Lead / Co-rdinator to join our growing team.
You will be responsible for the smooth operation of the transport, distribution, and logistics arm of the laundry.
As a key member of the Beacon team, you will be involved in driving the day-to-day operational allocation and organisation of stock, scheduling, coordination, and monitoring of all linen and laundry stock and its distribution to a customer base of holiday accommodation providers throughout the Northern Rivers. You will be required to manage the efficiencies & logistics within the operation to ensure a smooth, accurate and reliable service for our clients.
What you'll do and who we're looking for includes:
- Empathic Guidance of the Dispatch team and our Linen Delivery Drivers. You'll be on the ground getting to know the team and will bring your experience (even lived experience) to work effectively with people of diverse backgrounds.
- Exceptional organizational and logistical skills This is a busy “hands on” role where you will oversee the Dispatch Area, and staff involved in Load Planning & Delivery Scheduling. You will ensure that all deliveries & loads are compliant and meet standards including all safety and regulatory requirements, risk management, and improving processes to reduce errors.
- You'll be in your comfort zone oversseing the smooth operation of the dispatch area and assisting in ensuring that we can meet our daily production targets, allocating the right people to the right places, and the right stock in the right place. How well you plan and problem-solve matters.
- Strong customer service skills to liaise with our customers and clien
- With extensive knowledge of logistics and delivery services, you will demonstrate: awesome planning, time management and organizational skills, be IT literate (Linentech experience a bonus), customer-focused, resilient, calm and outcome-oriented.
