AddressFamily Doctor are looking for a casual Dispensary Assistant to join our team at The Grove Health Pymble Dispensary at Gordon, NSW.
Position Objective:
Reporting to the Practice Manager, the role works closely with the Dispensary Manager in using natural remedies of diagnosis, treatment and the cure of ailments and illnesses with the aim to improve the patient’s health by using naturopathic principles and healing techniques.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Commitment to a patient centered approach in the provision of dispensary service, consistent with the Company values and vision.
- Demonstrate the core values of patient centered care in every interaction with patients and colleagues.
- Recognise and uphold the rights of all patients accessing services, including maintaining cultural sensitivity.
- Deliver quality customer service to patients, respond to inquiries, questions, or requests, and refer them to the Practice Manager or Naturopath Dispensary Manager when required.
- Provide dispensary services in a safe and professional manner.
- Seek guidance from the Dispensary Manager with dosage regimen and method of preparation of herbal formulas when required.
- Review prescriptions for accuracy and completeness, evaluate orders to verify dosage and quantity to be dispensed.
- Accurately compound herbal prescriptions and assure that the finished herbal prescriptions meet the applicable specifications.
- Dispense herbal prescriptions by packaging and labelling finished product correctly and ensure that all safety measure is followed when filling prescriptions.
- Maintain records including documentation on prescribing recommendations, compounding, and dispensing record.
- Clean and disinfect herbal dispensary equipment, instruments, and work areas.
- Ensure patient safety be adhering to infection control protocols
- Identify and report any potential problems or disruptions to the Practice Manager andDispensary Manager which could relate to the interruption of business or impact upon the clinic or dispensary service provision.
- Comply with privacy and confidentiality principles to all work practices including Partnered Health policies and procedures.
Other Functions and Responsibilities:
- Maintain a safe and hygienic practice environment.
- To work flexibly within the team and to provide cover as necessary.
- Work collaboratively with the Practice Manager, Naturopath Dispensary Manager, staff in the dispensary and across the clinic in a positive and professional manner.
- Actively participate in team meetings and project activities as required.
- Attend internal and external training courses to enhance own professional development and technical knowledge.
- Complete other duties and responsibilities as directed by the Practice Manager.
Preferred Qualifications, Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor of Health Science (Naturopathy) is preferred .
- Current clean drivers’ licence.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including demonstrated experience interacting with a wide range of people.
- Problem solving by using a combination of logic, experience, and analysis to make decisions and work through problems.
- Exceptional organizational skills to ensure quality dispensary services are provided.
- Ability to deliver services in a manner consistent with the standards of the practice.
- Intermediate computer skills.
