But there is more… Kitchen, Garden Decoration, Arts & Crafts, Pet Items and Discount Food! We carry more than 40,000 items in our stores (Metro Melbourne & regional Victoria) and in our online store! We plan to open in 2021 another 3 stores and grow our franchise model.
To support continued growth across our retail stores and online business, we are recruiting a DISTRIBUTION AND PROCUREMENT MANAGER to join the growing team.
Reporting directly to our director, you will plan, create, implement, monitor sales strategies & budgets, and you will be responsible to negotiate with our suppliers onshore and overseas, creating exciting new product ranges for our customers.
Job Type: Permanent – Retail Industry
Salary: $ 85,000 per annum
Benefits: Company vehicle and travel allowance
Key Responsibilities:
- Create, Implement & Monitor purchases, distribution, warehousing and storage
- Support our retail stores to grow sales and strengthen their market positions
- Take full responsibility in the process of order-system, development of our POS system to ensure re-ordering and re-stocking is at optimal times
- Monitor and review storage and inventory system to meet supply requirements and control stock levels
- Negotiate with our suppliers, create new product ranges, monitor delivery/quality requirements
- Deliver a consistent monitoring to maintain required stock levels at minimum costs
- Prepare weekly & monthly reporting/analytics for insight generation and performance optimization
- Directing staff activities and monitoring their performance and store procedures
- Travelling throughout regional Victoria on a weekly base visiting stores and liaising with store managers (approximately 3-4 days travel per week with overnight stays and can include weekends)
The ideal candidate will have:
Candidates should have a University degree in Business Management (Minimum level bachelor’s degree). We will accept nominations without University degree, but applicants must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in our market with a large scale of retailer. The ideal candidate is sharp, hardworking, attentive to detail, intuitive, reliable and extremely well organized.
- Tertiary Qualifications in Business/Sales/Marketing/Communications or equivalent industry experience
- Proven success in similar role
- Strong communication/interpersonal skills and staff training experience
- In-depth knowledge of reporting methods via excel and other tools
- High level accuracy and attention to detail
- Effective time management and prioritization skills
- Ability to easily adapt to changing priorities and strong problem-solving skills
- Enjoy hard work and demonstrate urgency in your daily routine
- Ability to work independently & flexible hours, including some weekends
- Excellent knowledge and experience of POS systems
