We are seeking a Distribution Centre Manager to oversee the management and day-to-day activities of our Distribution Centre in Toowoomba, Queensland. The ideal candidate should be a seasoned logistics professional with robust leadership abilities and a hands-on approach to efficiently and effectively managing operations.
What will you do?
- Assume complete responsibility for the operational and commercial management of the Vinidex Toowoomba Distribution Centre, including on-site and off-site yards
- Demonstrate clear safety leadership to the T1 and T2 yard teams, emphasizing safety as a fundamental value for the site
- Take charge of and advocate for operational enhancement initiatives within the region concerning the planning, storage, and handling of high-risk 12m and 20m coils
- Set up and uphold open and cooperative work practices with colleagues in Sales and Manufacturing to achieve optimal operational and customer results
- Develop and instil a safety-first culture through visible effective leadership and workforce engagement to achieve the best possible standards of workplace safety
- Support National DC Manager in strategy development to ensure customers’ needs are met and promote ease of doing business with Vinidex for elements unique to the region
About you
- Experience in heavy industry or construction supply chains advantageous
- Coal, Seam Gas industry experience advantageous
- Minimum 5+ years relevant work experience in a distribution leadership role
- Ability to effectively balance front line leadership with strategic initiatives (70% of the role is focused on tactical operations);
- Demonstrated experience in driving organizational change and transformation
- Demonstrated commitment to the implementation of best practice across distribution, logistics, inventory, safety, quality and stakeholder management
- Experience in process improvement and project management to ensure risks are articulated and managed accordingly;
- Advanced skills in team development, with experience in coaching, mentoring and enabling employees to achieve set goals;
