About the Role:
Seeking a Distribution Officer to join our office in Thebarton, being responsible for the Finished Goods and Distribution area for local, national, and international deliveries. The successful applicant will need to be eager to learn, take a great deal of pride in their work, have the ability to work well with others, have strong attention to detail, and be adaptable in a fast-paced environment. We are looking for someone to join the organisation for the long-term, with opportunities to work closely with other areas of the business and make a real impact.
Reporting to the Operations and Supply Chain Manager, your responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing the receipt, storage, retrieval, and dispatch of goods.
- Planning and organising the arrangement of goods within the warehouse.
- Organising special requirements for the management of perishable and fragile stock.
- Working with other warehouse team members to ensure high levels of productivity.
- Ensuring stock requirements are met and manage warehouse stock levels to company standards.
- Oversee and maintain stock integrity through stocktakes, cycle counts, and stock reports.
- Management and reporting of damaged or missing stock and proactively initiating activities to minimise losses.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with key internal customers.
- Being open and contributing to continuous improvement activities.
- Adhering to business policies and procedures, including safe work practices and the Austofix Quality Management System.
Skills and Experience:
We are seeking someone who has a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role and who takes pride in producing high quality work that directly contributes to the overall success of the business. A knowledge of the Biomedical industry will be an advantage but not essential. The applicant must also demonstrate:
- Strong verbal, written communication & numeracy skills.
- Sound communication, organisational and dispatching skills.
- High level problem-solving, organisational and time management skills.
- Team player who can work unsupervised and take ownership.
- Understanding of general warehouse WHS policies and procedures.
- Sound computer skills – ERP inventory system and MS Office.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with strong internal and external customer focus.
- Confident, mature, and professional attitude.
- Ability to cope with changing work demands and a fast-paced environment.
- Reliable, committed, and trustworthy.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Driver’s licence preferred.
- Graduate qualifications in a relevant field preferred.
