About the role:

The Transactions Legal team is a transactional legal team providing high quality legal services to various stakeholders of the Rabobank Australia & New Zealand Group (RANZG) including the Wholesale Major Agribusiness Clients, and Global Financial Markets (GFM) teams..

We are seeking a Documentation Manager responsible for managing the drafting, negotiation and execution of GFM documentation across RANZG including, without limitation, ISDA Master Agreements and related documentation such as Novation Agreements and Credit Support Annexes, Rabobank Local Master Agreements, Global Master Repurchase Agreements and other bespoke documentation.

The role is based in our Sydney office (subject to Rabo@Anywhere as detailed below).

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities*: 

  • Assist both the Head Counsel, Transactions Legal and the Lead Markets Documentation Manager in providing high quality legal services to its stakeholders as required.
  • Draft, negotiate and arrange the execution of all documentation pertaining to the GFM business (both standard and complex bespoke);
  • Assisting front office where there are departures from Rabobank prescribed requirements to articulate these for internal approvals (where necessary)
  • Advise and assist GFM Operations with confirmations and other ancillary documents and matters arising on request;
  • Review trust deeds/constitutions/statutory instruments for appropriate power to enter into derivative transactions & check that documentation has been duly executed;
  • Act as first point of contact for GFM documentation for various stakeholders (including Front Office/Branches/GFM Sales, Credit, Compliance and Head Office);

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Relevant prior experience in a similar capacity with in a financial institution, with a focus on the production of financial markets documentation including a thorough understanding of ISDA Master Agreements.
  • Experience of advising on & documenting transactions and products offered in the GFM space.
  • Sound understanding and knowledge of the regulatory environment affecting derivatives;
  • Practical understanding of banking products, systems, risk management and lending processes and procedures;
  • Strong relationship management and communication skills and an ability to consult with a wide range of internal and external clients;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
