About the role
You will be working as a part of a friendly and close-knit team. We deeply value our residential aged-care clients and their wellbeing, therefore it’s imperative to have quality staff supporting them day-to-day.
As a valued Domestic Assistant at VMCH you will:
- Carry out a range of domestic tasks to maintain hygiene standards in a home-like environment
- Cleaning residents’ rooms including ensuites, furniture and equipment, as appropriate, and communal and administrative areas
- Ensure common living areas, hallways and all other areas of the facility (including front entrance courtyards, verandas) are maintained in a clean and tidy and safe condition
- Ensure the safe storage, security and labelling of appropriate cleaning materials in line with the MSDS, and in consultation with the Residential Services Manager, while being aware of the environmental requirements of cleaning products and their disposal
- Replenishing cleaning liquids and materials whilst observing safety procedures
- Report stock shortages, breakages, building, equipment or furnishing defects promptly to the Residential Services Manager
About you
We are looking for reliable, caring and compassionate Domestic Assistants (DA) to bring joy to our resident’s day. You will have interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate effectively and compassionately with residents, families, employees and volunteers; patience; common sense and an understanding of client service
- Demonstrated initiative and ability to work without supervision.
- Well-developed prioritisation and organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to operate with discretion and to maintain complete confidentiality.
- Commitment to work as part of a team.
