Domestic Laundry Assistant

We are currently seeking a Domestic Laundry Assistant to join the friendly and supportive team at our Juniper Korumup Residential Aged Care home in Albany. Located just minutes from the Albany town centre in the suburb of Lockyer, Juniper Korumup Residential Aged Care Home is set amongst peaceful and natural surroundings.
Whilst working in this rewarding role you will ensure that all resident linen and clothing is appropriately laundered and returned. You will be mindful of privacy and able to manage a busy day with high volumes of linen and personal items to launder. You will appreciate that a person's clothing is important to them and deserves respect and care.

The duties of this role may vary depending upon the operational needs of the Korumup facility, with the potential for training in kitchen and cleaning duties.
This position is being offered on a permanent part-time basis. To be considered for this position you must be available to work at least 12 hours per week. Shifts are available Monday, Tuesday and Friday each week working from 08:30am-2:00pm. There is also the potential for additional hours in a leave relief capacity. Hours and shifts will be negotiated with the successful candidate.
Key Responsibilities of this role:

• Attend to resident laundry and linen, including the washing of clothing according to manufacturer specifications
• Demonstrate respect for resident property and privacy
• Safely use laundry equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Adhere to Juniper policies and procedures relating to Occupational Safety and Health

The Skills, Knowledge and Experience required:

• Previous experience in a similar role – desirable
• Knowledge of laundry and cleaning procedures
• Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills
• Knowledge of relevant chemical and safe handling practices and procedures
• Excellent organisation and time management skills
• Received at least two covid-19 vaccinations and have had, or willing to obtain, influenza vaccination annually
