Domestic Trader (Meat)

A rare opportunity has become available to join an Australian family-owned company, who have a wealth of knowledge and experience in trading meat, specializing within Australia and New Zealand market.

The Domestic Trader will cultivate and strengthen relationships with both existing and prospective clients within the Meat industry. 

Your enthusiasm for meat products and the sector, coupled with ongoing mentorship and training, will be instrumental in your success in this role.

You'll receive robust support from a dedicated team unified in their commitment to delivering top-quality products and exemplary service.

The Domestic Trader must possess time-management skills and meticulous attention to detail. They should be adept at negotiating favorable outcomes for the business and proficient in coordinating with internal and external stakeholders. Compliance with management directives and trading-related requests is essential.

As a valued team member, you'll contribute positively to achieving collective objectives. Additionally, occasional domestic travel to visit suppliers and clients will be required.

Responsibilities

• Market and promote meat product ranges focusing on Australian Asian market

• Develop strategies to create new business opportunities and penetrate target markets

• Liaise with business owners, management, and key stakeholders

• Negotiate and provide quotes and tenders

• Responsible for handling transport and logistics

• Responsible for monitoring and managing P&L

• Maintain professional business acumen in dealing with clients

• Proficient in Microsoft (Outlook, Word, Excel)

• Excellent communicator verbally & in writing

• Excellent time and priority management

• Highly adaptable

• A team player

• Possess problem-solving skills and high attention to details 

Qualifications

• Relatable Sales experience, preferable in the meat market, this position could suite a butcher looking for a change.

• Experience working in a fast-paced environment and have “can do” attitude.

• Experience working under pressure with the ability to effectively priorities workloads.

• Experience working in a team environment.

• Attention to detail, strong communication skills and problem solving are key attribute.
