Position Overview:
As a Donation Handler, you will play a vital role in our Vinnies shops across South Australia by handling and preparing donated items for sale or distribution. Working closely with our Warehouse team, you will sort donations, prepare special orders, manage seasonal stock changes, and ensure a clean and tidy work area. This role requires a flexible approach to work and a commitment to upholding workplace health and safety practices.
About Us:
St Vincent de Paul Society (SA) Inc. is a major international charitable and voluntary organisation that has been operating in South Australia since 1884. Our principal role is to provide for or alleviate the needs of disadvantaged people in the community.
Serviced and supported by our Warehouse, our retail shops play an important role in delivering on our Mission, as proceeds from sales go directly into funding various programs such as providing emergency relief, accommodation assistance, food support, and other services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sort donated items into different categories as directed.
- Prepare special orders according to customer requests.
- Manage seasonal stock changes and inventory.
- Work effectively and productively both independently and as part of a team.
- Maintain a clean and tidy work area at all times.
- Perform any other tasks as directed by your Line Manager.

Special Conditions:
- Physical fitness is relevant to this role, as manual handling and physical activity are required.
- Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory National Police Check and a pre-employment health check.
