Due to ongoing growth, we are looking for an experienced Drafting Manager to join our team in this newly created role. This position is based at our Campbellfield office, it's an exciting development for the business and growing the Drafting department and culture is key.
As the Drafting Manager you are responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the detailing team. The role will be focused on all things quality and on time performance. As a part of the Stevens Group team, you are expected to role model the values and expected behaviours to ensure a high performing and engaged culture.
Roles and Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Manages the day-to-day operations, including the hiring, and relevant performance management of the Drafting department
Is responsible for all things quality, and on time performance
Delivers the fairest commercial result for the business wherever possible
Point of contact for escalations within drafting and detailing
Manages all training of all current and new draftspersons
Maintains and develops a retention focused approach to the recruitment, training and ongoing professional development within the detailing department
Comply with all Stevens Group policies and expected behaviours
Supervise daily activities to ensure that work is performed safely, efficiently and in accordance with procedures
Lead by example for staff in manner, attitude and customer service to ensure the operations are process driven
You will have a advanced knowledge in Tekla Structures and AutoCAD and other Microsoft packages
Your administrative and coordination skills will be crucial to own the success of our business,
To be successful in this role you will possess the following:
Essential:
5+ years’ experience within the commercial Structural Steel area
Strong communication skills with a variety of stakeholders
Proficiency with plan reading
Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team
Proficiency using AutoCAD, Tekla, Excel, various frame & truss programs and Microsoft packages
Intermediate Microsoft applications; Outlook, Excel, Word
Work professionally in a fast-paced environment
Strong customer service skills
Proven ability working within a team environment
