Draftsperson

WE FIT UP THE BIG RIGS! From design, fabrication, to fitting up all the cool stuff on Prime Movers. Head Board Frames, Super Duty Guard Sets, Tool Boxes, Oil Tanks. You name it we offer it! The role:

• Manual take-off from trucks and reverse engineering components. May involve driving to site for measurements.
• Design new components based on customer and/or company requirements.
• Revise existing components.
• CAD drawings and revision management.
• Exporting and organising various file types for cutting and pressing including DXF, STEP, IGES & PDF.
• Generate Bill of Materials (BOM) and Scopes of Works (SOW).
• Review build sheets and input engineering details for procurement and production teams.
• Organising job drawings ready for manufacture and fitment.
• Maintain Workshop folders.
• Work closely with Fabrication and fitting team.
• Work closely overseas drafting team.

Required Experience and Skills:

• Tertiary Qualification in Mechanical Engineering - Highly regarded
• Trade Qualification in Sheet Metal Fabrication & Welding - Highly regarded
• Motivated with a “can do” attitude.
• Methodical in approach to work; take-off, design, CAD, Drafting and checking.
• Good communication skills.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience using SolidWorks in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficient with SolidWorks; advance modelling techniques.
• Solid understanding of Drawing standards.
• Solid understanding of welding and material documentation. 
• SolidWorks PDM experience is highly regarded but not essential.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with steel and aluminium manufacturing.
• Experience in the automotive, trucking and or trailer industry is highly regarded.
• Experience with online planning software is a bonus but not essential.
